Software

The main interest in our laboratory is making tools for using Self-organizing maps (SOM). The first software package, which is downloadable, was SOM_PAK which is written in ANSI-C. However, the SOM algorithms are implemented in plenty of programming languages and platforms.

Our main platform nowadays for software development is Matlab because of its large use and good visualisation opportunities. The IDE Research Group has implemented SOM Toolbox for Matlab 5. An end-user can easily modify the code.
