Intelligent Data Engineering Research Group
The Intelligent Data Engineering Research Group consists of
researchers in the Laboratory of Computer and Information Science (CIS) at the Helsinki University
of Technology (HUT). The group is
headed by professor Olli
Simula.
- Our Mission
- To develop and apply problem independent data-driven
methods for process/industrial data analysis, and to
deliver knowledge and know-how of these methods to our industrial
partners.
Our core compentence area is data analysis and data mining in
complex systems using neural networks, especially the Self-Organizing Map
(SOM). In our projects, we have several goals:
- to develop new methods and apply existing ones,
- to help solve problems of our industrial partners using the
methods,
- to deliver method knowledge to our partners, and
- to report our works in publications: conferences,
journal articles, theses, and via WWW.
From the site you can find information
on our projects, view and download our publications, check out the software we use and/or have made, and check
out web sites that are of special
interest to us.
