Adaptive Analysis of Images

The emphasis of the research is on novel adaptive and learning algorithms for image processing and analysis. The research is led by Professor Erkki Oja.

Current Research Projects

• PicSOM (1998- ). In this project the Self-Organizing Map is applied for image database retrieval.
  
  
• Adaptive OCR (1997- ). In this project learning methods in on-line character recognition are studied.
  
  
• Visual Fault Analysis of Running Paper Web (1995- ). The goal of the project is to develop a classification system for fast, real-time web surface inspection.
