Visualization software
OpenDX is the Open Source version
of the former IBM product Visualization Data Explorer.
- Red Hat 7.3 RPMS:
- Red Hat 7.1 RPMS, download and install with
"
rpm -ivh OpenDX-4.1.3-5.i386.rpm ":
The OpenDX RPM package requires the following packages from Red
Hat Linux 7.11 and Red
Hat Powertools 7.12 to be installed:
- bash1,
- bzip21,
- freetype1,
- glibc1,
- ImageMagick1,
- libjpeg1,
- libpng1,
- libstdc++1,
- libtiff1,
- Mesa1,
- openmotif2,
- tcsh1,
- XFree86-libs1 and
- zlib1.
If you have dependency problems please check
whether these packages are installed
(e.g. "rpm -q openmotif ") and download and
install them, if necessary
(e.g. "rpm -ivh openmotif-2.1.30-8.i386.rpm ").

If you want to compile the software yourself (without the RPM
system) you might still want to take a look at the RPM spec file (it specifies how the RPM
compiles and installs the software).
- Other platforms
OpenDX comes with a comprehensive documentation
(dx-docs.tar.gz). The documentation is
included in the RPM and source distributions.
