If the last digit of your student number is less than eight but higher than three, your assignment is the texture classification problem. Those whose last digit is 4, 5, 6, or 7, implement method 1, 2, 3, or 4, respectively.

Otherwise, your assignment is the handwritten digit classification problem. Those whose last digit is 8 or 9, implement method 1 or 2, respectively. If you don't have a student number, select the method you prefer more.

The deadline for the assignments is 1.12.2000. The experiments will take some time so start working before the last week end.

The assignment should be returned to the course assistant Matti Aksela (matti.aksela@hut.fi) either during the exercises or directly to room B330 (Computer Science building). If the assistant is not there, you can leave your report in the assignment return mailbox for the CIS courses (Tik-61) near the elevator, even though this courses code is not written on it.
